Paper Sessions, Poster Sessions, & Proposal Blitzes
Paper Sessions
A 15 minute long presentation, plus an additional 5-minute question component, presented by Honours students, JCURA, and Independent studies. This session is meant for students to share their original research studies and practice conference presentation and speaking skills. Presentations will require a professional platform to present original research (i.e., Powerpoint).
University of Victoria Psychology Honours Poster Session (formerly known as Psychology Students of Vancouver Island Poster Session, or PSOVIPS)
The PSOVIPS Poster Session is approximately 3 hours long and will take place on Thursday, April 6th from 2-5 PM. This is an opportunity for UVic Honours students to present a poster of their year long original research. The recommended size for posters is 3' tall by 4' wide, and should be no larger than 4'x4' to fit the board.
Proposal Blitz Length
Proposal Blitz is a 5-minute speech presenting your original research proposal. Open to any undergraduate psychology student. This is meant for students to have the opportunity to share their original research, practice conference presentations, and enhance speaking skills. Requires undergraduate students who have either dreamed up or completed proposals. Whether it be for a class project or a hobby on the side, any proposal is welcome. Students will be judged on presentation skills by a panel and awarded a prize. (This is a verbal presentation, so please no slides.)
Open Poster Session
This is an open poster session to any students working on psychology related research. This poster session will take place on Friday, April 7th from 1-2:45 PM and will include research from university students from across the Pacific North West. The recommended size for posters is 3' tall by 4' wide, and should be no larger than 4'x4' to fit the board.
